An East Coast transplant, Isaac moved across the country to Tahoe in 2019. After attending school in NYC and earning a degree in Urban Studies, Isaac worked in the service industry and youth mental health for his first two years in the North Lake Tahoe area.
Looking for a career change and to work in a sphere closer to his field of study, Isaac applied for the Town of Truckee’s Housing CivicSpark Fellowship in 2021. Isaac was accepted into the program and spent the next year as a fellow gaining invaluable experience while working hands-on with partners in the Tahoe housing circle. As part of his fellowship at the Town, Isaac was tasked with researching short-term rental management strategies, helped prepare for the launch of new housing programs, and assisted in the management and improvement of existing programs, where he was introduced to Placemate.
Now the Operations Manager at Placemate, Isaac helps to run the administration efforts behind the Lease to Locals program. Isaac is the tenant and homeowner liaison, responsible for guiding tenants and homeowners through the application process, compiling documentation, adhering to compliance standards to ensure program guidelines are being met, and facilitating communication between multiple jurisdictions. Additionally, he places renters in properties whose owners have contracted with Placemate to perform tenant screening. Isaac has also been responsible for larger systems improvements, working to iterate and smooth out Placemate’s internal administrative processes.
