Timea has lived, worked, and contributed to the Tahoe community for over 20 years. A native of Hungary and a lifelong champion of philanthropic work, the majority of Timea’s career has been focused on improving health and quality of life in the Tahoe region.
Timea has been consistently involved in local community service through various volunteer roles, including the Chair of the Board for the Sierra Community House, and Lake Tahoe Dance Collective, and is a graduate of the Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program.
In 2018, Timea officially moved career fields from the medical industry into the cause-based business world, bringing with her 15 years of experience in customer management, organizational communication, and team leadership. Prior to Placemate, Timea was the Executive Assistant for the CEO at the Tahoe-Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) and an integral part of the outreach and fundraising programs. Her work at TTCF covered multiple initiatives, including community strengthening, forest health, housing, and impact investing. She also became well-versed in Tahoe’s key public, private, and philanthropic business sectors.
It was at TTCF that Timea learned about Placemate through the seed funding grant the organization was awarded to kick-start the business in 2019.
Timea’s move to Placemate in 2023 was an exciting and seamless transition inspired by her passion for ensuring Tahoe remains a vibrant and healthy economy. Currently, Timea works with homeowners to educate and onboard them into the Lease to Locals program. Through her work at Placemate, Timea hopes to create a diversified and healthy community where businesses and people equally thrive by finding housing for those who call Tahoe-Truckee their home.
